A soul that is ignited with aspirations, in a world where dreams are the guides, Ahnnika Velasquez’s stardom journey has just begun. At her young age, she bears the title of Miss Jr. Teen Hollywood US Nation 2024.
In an exclusive question-answer session, Ahnnika reflected on her journey and dreams. She shared that her modeling expedition didn’t begin with the flashy spectacles of the stage but with a child’s imagination and innocence. With nostalgic eyes, she opened up about her childhood aspirations:
"I would dress up in my princess costumes and pose for my mom and grandparents, pretending I was one of those famous models. I would walk up and down the hallway like it was a runway,"
It's a story that's just like a fairytale, where an ambitious girl's dreams find a path to reality.
Her increasing passion and fascination with modeling paved her path to the runway. Her inspiration was close to home; "The person I look up to most is my mom," she proudly shared. The strength and tireless support of her mother left an unforgettable mark on Ahnnika’s heart and served as a guiding light for the young model. Her mother’s journey as a successful single parent became her inspiration:
"I want to be as strong and supportive as she is when I’m older."
Other than modeling, she finds pleasure in the realm of science as it is her favorite school subject. She is fascinated by the scientific world of experiments and different outcomes. With a microscope and different experiments, she loves to explore the wonders of the natural world.
At such a young age, her ambitions are as great as the sky. She wants to become a famous actress and model. Her passions transcend the boundaries of personal success and fame as she aspires to inspire and bring smiles to the faces of her audience.
Her aims extend the desire for fame; they surpass into empowerment and motivation for young girls:
"I want to teach young girls to be confident and strong and to not put up with any bullying.”- Her notion is to uplift and empower others.
Ahnnika's individuality lies in her mixed ethnicity and her capability to shine when the spotlight is on her. "I light up the stage," Ahnnika proudly mentions. Her knack for brightening up when the camera rolls contrasts with her general shyness, making her a versatile individual.
The world often considers appearance only to judge the beauty of a person, and Ahnnika desires to change the stereotype. Her view is that beauty is linked to kindness and generosity and it's not limited to the outside, it's not just about looks but it's about being a positive role model.
Ahnnika was last seen walking the runway at the Super Chic LA Fashion Week showcase and will be contesting for the Miss Jr. Teen California crown in October 2024.
